Job summary

The Gateway Region YMCA in O’Fallon, MO is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to supervise the pool area and ensure safety in all activities. You will monitor swimmers, perform routine checks, and respond to emergencies following YMCA procedures.

Qualifications

• Able to respond promptly to emergencies according to YMCA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Reviews and follows emergency procedures; responds to emergencies per policy.
• Responds to challenges with solutions in a timely manner.
• Knows and applies safety rules for pool and aquatic area.
• Remains calm under pressure and objective when challenged.
• Maintains accurate records per YMCA and state health codes.
• Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available.
• Checks the pool for hazardous conditions and tests chemicals when needed.
