Job summary

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Swim Center is seeking a lifeguard to provide a safe environment for pool patrons and swimmers. The role includes enforcing pool rules, performing rescues, and delivering basic first aid as needed.

The position is part-time with a wage of $15.50 per hour. Candidates must hold current lifeguard certification and demonstrate reliable attendance, good communication, and a positive attitude toward water activities.

Qualifications

• Have a current American Red Cross LG, YMCA or Ellis and Standard First Aid/CPR and Starguard certification
• Be mentally and physically fit
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Have at least one year of previous experience as a lifeguard
• Have a genuine interest in lifeguard work and all water activities
• Have regular and consistent attendance. Report to work promptly
• Be dependable, courteous, and neat. Have good communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of persons using the swimming pool.
• Know the Swim Center Emergency Action Plan and how to initiate it
• Complete an incident report for all accidents and injuries
• Be on the lookout for accidents in water, on the deck, or on diving equipment
• Enter water to rescue persons, provide first aid, and call 911 for serious cases
• Perform all facets of pool maintenance
• Coordinate with Pool Manager for disciplinary issues
• Maintain a professional appearance and carry whistle/first aid hip-pack at all times
