The essential function of this position includes lifeguarding at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center pool. Lifeguards will be Red Cross and CPR certified, and will provide a safe environment for swimmers. They will be proactive and timely in response to emergencies, and enforce related City and State rules and regulations. The position will work under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.Please note that this is a part-time/temporary/seasonal position that is not eligible for benefits and veteran's preference does not apply.
The City may provide required training and certification classes to candidates.
In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field.
Works outside in an environmentally uncontrolled space most of the time; and works in possibly adverse environmental conditions (e.g., sun, heat, cold, wind, and rain) for periods of time; exposed to chemical products. It is essential that the Lifeguard Position is alert to safety hazards within their area of services.
