Job summary

North Scott Community YMCA in Eldridge, IA is seeking a part-time lifeguard to ensure the safety of all pool patrons and to maintain a clean, orderly pool area. You will monitor water, enforce rules, and respond promptly to emergencies while engaging with members and staff.

Applicants should be at least 16 years old, hold a lifeguard certification, and uphold the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The role offers a supportive team environment within the Y.

Qualifications

• Must be lifeguard certified (classes provided through the YMCA).
• Available to work part-time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all patrons in and around the pool area.
• Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool deck using the 10-10 rule.
• Wear rescue fanny pack and rescue tube at all times while on duty.
• Accurately record and submit incident reports as required.
