The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands Division, is recruiting for a Seasonal Full Time Lifeguard position at Peaks-Kenny State Park, Dover Foxcroft, ME.

Job Description

This role involves protective services work at state park beaches, ensuring the safety of visitors at swimming facilities. Responsibilities include recognizing potential dangers and hazards, and intervening to prevent accidents or drownings. Work is performed under immediate supervision, with clear rules and guidelines, but requires independent judgment in applying them.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Successful completion of Lifeguard Competency Test

Licensing/Registration/Training Requirements

Possession of current Lifeguard Certification, CPR Certification, and First Aid Certification, plus successful completion of the Lifeguard Academy. These must be obtained before attaining permanent status.

Additional Information

• Applicants must be 18 or older; Lifeguards must be 16 or older
• Must be U.S. Citizens or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Housing provided at Penobscot River Corridor and Allagash Wilderness Waterway; generally not available elsewhere
• Work schedule typically 40 hours/week, including weekends and some holidays
• Uniforms provided
