The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands Division, is recruiting to fill a Seasonal Full Time Lifeguard position (11 weeks) located at Peaks-Kenny State Park, Dover Foxcroft, ME.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is protective services work at state park beaches with responsibility for the protection and safety of visitors at the swimming facilities. An important feature of this work is recognizing potential dangers and hazards that an individual may be placed in and correcting the situation to prevent an accident or drowning. Work is performed under immediate supervision with the incumbent applying clear rules and guidelines independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sixteen (16) years of age and successful completion of Lifeguard Competency Test.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Possession of a current/valid Lifeguard Certification, current/valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification, and current/valid First Aid Certification; and successful completion of the Lifeguard Academy.
