Job summary

Suncadia Resort, LLC is seeking a Lead Lifeguard to ensure guest safety at pools and water slides and to plan trainings for Lifeguards. The role emphasizes teamwork, service excellence, and maintaining high safety standards.

Salary is $19.50/hr with opportunities for training and leadership responsibilities across Inn & Lodge facilities. The position requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with current lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard Certification is required.
• Current CPR & First Aid certification is required.
• Previous lifeguarding experience is required.
• Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills are important.
• Lead role requires teamwork and training planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and enforce pool rules at water slides, pools, and saunas.
• Plan and facilitate lifeguard training courses and in-services.
• Stay alert and focused during shifts to ensure guest safety.
• Rescue swimmers in danger and administer first aid when needed.
• Keep pool and sauna areas clean and vacuum daily.
• Complete opening/closing/mid-shift checklists for operations.

Overview

The primary role of a Lead Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of all Inn & Lodge guests, Suncadia & Tumble Creek Club members, their families and guests that are utilizing the pool or water slide facilities. As a team member at Suncadia, you'll participate in building teamwork, effectiveness of services, and the overall character of the resort experience. As a Lead you'll also plan and facilitate trainings for other Lifeguards.

Salary: $19.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and enforce pool rules in water slides, swimming and sauna areas.
• Plan and facilitate both lifeguard instruction courses and in-services
• Be alert and focused at all times when on duty at the pools or water slides.
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer first aid.
• Clean the pool and sauna regularly of loose debris and vacuum on daily basis.
• Perform daily opening, closing or mid-shift checklists to ensure all aspects of the pool operations are being administered.
• Assist with general pool, facility and locker room cleanliness.
• May inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance and repair needed.
• Administer public health and safety policies according to facility standard operating procedures and emergency action plans
• Ensure member and associate safety in all areas of the club through awareness and on-going safety training.
• Personally greet each club member as they enter facilities with a smile and their first or last name, depending on their preference.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
• Attends weekly, monthly or quarterly team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Current American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard Certification
• Current Certification in CPR & First Aid
• Previous Lifeguarding experince required
• Strong organizational skills and oral and written communication skills
• Energetic self-starter with strong work ethic
• Proven ability to meet and work with the public
• Ability to engage in social conversation with members and guests to promote positive relations
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with a smile
