Job summary

Howard County Government’s North Laurel Community Center is seeking a Lifeguard Instructor to teach American Red Cross Lifeguard courses. You will lead ARC Lifeguard and Recertification classes, develop lesson plans, and oversee 6–10 students per session.

Requirements include ARC Lifeguard/First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguard and Instructor, plus strong communication and emergency response skills. Must be 19 or older. Salary is $16.00–$21.25 per hour as a contingent paraprofessional.

Qualifications

• Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Lifeguard.
• Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Lifeguard Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Lead ARC Lifeguard and Lifeguard Recertification courses.
• Develop lesson plans and manage timelines for material.
• Lead 6 to 10 students per class.
• Monitor activities and prevent accidents in the aquatics facility.
• Maintain records of attendance and tests.
