Job Title: Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) - KC Metro Area - 2025

Join Midwest Pool Management as a Lifeguard Instructor for the 2025 summer season in the Kansas City metro area. We manage numerous swimming pools, offering fun and safety for the community, clients, and staff. The role involves teaching lifeguard candidates for Starguard Elite certification, assisting the Director of Training, and ensuring a safe aquatic environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend initial and ongoing training for lifeguard instruction and lifeguarding.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, including uniform compliance.
  • Instruct and evaluate group lifeguard courses, ensuring skills are appropriately taught and assessed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility and classroom environment.
  • Perform daily safety checks and monitor for potential accidents.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, skills checklists, and incident reports.
  • Notify the Director of Training of emergencies or issues.
  • Secure testing materials and equipment, ensuring integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist in planning and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Additional Information

The instructor class is scheduled for December 13-15, with mandatory attendance. Lifeguard classes will commence in late December and continue throughout the year. Prior lifeguard experience (minimum 2 years) and being at least 18 years old are preferred.
