Qualifications

Job Summary

We are actively recruiting certified lifeguards for both summer and year-round opportunities at our indoor and outdoor pools located throughout the county. As a certified lifeguard, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our diverse communities through your expertise. The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, excellent communication skills, and a high level of self-motivation. PRCS serves a broad spectrum of the population, including youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.

Locations include:

  • Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, Ashburn, VA
  • Dulles South Recreation & Community Center, South Riding VA
  • Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center, Sterling VA
  • Round Hill Aquatics Center Indoor Pool, Round Hill VA
  • Franklin Park Outdoor Pool, Purcellville VA (Summer Only)
  • Lovettsville Community Center Outdoor Pool, Lovettsville VA (Summer Only)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the use of aquatic facilities and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with policies.
  • Rescuing distressed persons using rescue techniques and equipment.
  • Contacting emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury.
  • Providing emergency care and treatment as required.
  • Enforcing pool rules.
  • Providing courteous and timely customer service.
  • Referring customers to appropriate staff.
  • Performing other relevant duties as needed.

*Flexible work hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays are available to accommodate your schedule.*

Minimum Qualifications

Lifeguard I (Grade 103): Must be at least 15 years old and hold the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at hire or obtain it within 30 days.

Lifeguard II (Grade 104): Must have a HS Diploma (or equivalent) and hold the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at hire or obtain it within 30 days.

Job Contingencies and Requirements

Must undergo a criminal background check.

Obtain Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
