Overview

• Position: Lifeguard I
• Location/Dept.: Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, Philadelphia PA
• Availability: Immediate
• Schedule: Part-time Plus (up to 20 hours/week); Part-time (up to 19 hours/week). Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as required.
• Reporting Relationship: Aquatics Manager (AM), Aquatics Supervisor (AS)
• Salary Grade: $16.00
• Status: 73 Non-exempt

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all aquatic areas for Kroc Center members and guests.
• Provide superior customer service and oversight of aquatic facilities.
• Support the team in all center operations as needed.
• Maintain a safe environment in the water park and swimming areas.
• Supervise member and guest use of aquatic venues.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
• Participate in daily maintenance of pools and emergency equipment.
• Share information about programs and services.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or enrolled in such a program.
• PA state lifeguard certification; ability to meet swimming requirements.
• Previous lifeguard experience in PA preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Training and compliance with child protection laws and background checks as per PA law.
