Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Aquatic & Recreation activities, the lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe and sanitary environment that encourages members to use the Lifestyles facility for fitness, relaxation, and recreation, while also improving individual swimming and water safety skills.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification required.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current Red Cross Standard First Aid or equivalent required.
• Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred.
• Effective group process skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Effective listening skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to switch tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work well under stress and adapt to changing environments.
• Ability to work cooperatively with clients, families, and team members.
• Effective time management and quick response to emergencies.
