Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Lifeguard to protect swimmers, prevent accidents, and foster a welcoming environment for members and visitors. Free training and lifeguard certification are provided, with ongoing training and recertification, plus a free YMCA membership for all centers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Able to pass a physical competency including swimming endurance and timed events.
• National CPR, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, and Lifeguard certification required (or provided training).

Responsibilities

• Continuously scan the pool, whirlpool and sauna areas for safe conditions.
• Enforce posted rules and safety procedures to protect participants.
• Open and close the pool facilities and maintain lap swim continuity.
• Assist in safety audits and participate in ongoing training sessions.
