Lifeguard (Free Tickets, Discounts, Paid Training)

Overview: $18.00 / hour. Lifeguards are responsible for providing superior guest service and ensuring the safe operation of attractions, including guest safety through enforcement of rider requirements. Our lifeguard training classes and certifications are provided FREE of charge, and you get PAID to complete them!

A screening process will determine if you meet the requirements of a Lifeguard position. The process includes an initial interview, followed by a second assessment of swim ability, which involves swimming 200 yards (8 laps) for deep water guards or 50 yards (2 laps) for shallow water guards, retrieving a 10lb. brick from a 6ft. pool, and treading water for 2 minutes without using your arms.

Responsibilities:
  1. Interact with guests and create memorable experiences through meaningful connections.
  2. Share your passion for creating a warm and welcoming environment with your team.
  3. Deliver fast and accurate service.
  4. Test equipment daily before opening attractions.
  5. Maintain order among guests waiting to ride and enforce all ride restrictions and recommendations.
  6. Assist with loading and unloading guests safely, including small children and guests with disabilities.
  7. Monitor guests in assigned areas and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
  • CPR and First Aid certification (training provided).
  • Current lifeguard certification (training provided).
  • Ability to pass a Lifeguard course taught in English.
  • Physical stamina and strong swimming skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, bend, twist, and kneel.
  • Willingness to get wet and stay wet throughout the day, regardless of weather.
  • Preparedness to be test/rescue ready at all times.
  • Compliance with wearing approved footwear.
  • Attention to safety and detail.
  • 20/20 vision or corrective lenses to meet this standard.
  • Strong observational skills to proactively identify guest needs and safety compliance.
  • Genuine interest in making people feel welcome with a positive attitude.
  • Openness to learning, growth, and skill development.
  • Commitment to punctuality and working scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Secondary Assessment:
  • Capability to tread water for at least 2 minutes.
  • Ability to swim up to 200 yards.
  • Skill in retrieving a 10-pound brick from various pool depths.
