Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking year-round Lifeguards to work across a variety of recreation centers and pools. You’ll be responsible for public safety, customer service, and keeping pool spaces clean, with training provided.

Ideal candidates are strong swimmers, reliable, and available to work 12–15 hours per week, including weekends. Certification is required within the first month, and the role offers flexible scheduling with on-call, part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old at time of application.
• Lifeguard certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
• Current Lifeguard Training Certification from ARC, NASCO, Ellis & Associates, or Star Guard is required within the first month.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming areas, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service to pool visitors.
• Perform regular upkeep and cleaning of pool spaces and equipment.
• Teach swimming lessons.
• Provide recreation center front desk or facility operations support as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
