Description

A Brief Overview

The purpose of a lifeguard is to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) take over.

What You Will Do
  1. Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment.
  2. Ensures safety of staff, members, and guests in the pool area.
  3. Maintains a safe environment at all times, keeping the pool deck dry, clean, and clear of obstacles.
  4. Perform water tests on pools and spas at specified times. Report any problems to the supervisor or building manager immediately.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.
  2. Complies with all policies and standards.
  3. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  4. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
