Lifeguard - Downtown Belleville YMCA (Security)

The lifeguard maintains active surveillance of the pool area, ensuring safety and compliance with all policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:

1. Responding immediately to emergency situations in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and the safe-in-six model, and completing related reports as required.
2. Applying safety rules, policies, and guidelines consistently for the pool and aquatic area, and remaining calm under pressure.
3. Performing equipment checks, ensuring availability of appropriate equipment, and inspecting the pool for hazardous conditions upon arrival.
4. Conducting chemical testing when not on duty and taking appropriate actions based on the results.
5. Responding to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.
6. Maintaining accurate records as required by the YMCA and state health department code.
