Job Description

We are seeking a responsible and alert Lifeguard to ensure the safety of all pool users at the ES Community Center. The ideal candidate will monitor pool activities, enforce safety rules, perform rescues when necessary, and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitoring: Vigilantly watch over the pool area to identify and prevent unsafe behaviors.
  2. Rescue Operations: Respond promptly to emergencies and perform water rescues as needed.
  3. Enforcement: Use your whistle and authority to maintain order and enforce safety rules.
  4. Pool and Equipment Inspection: Regularly check pool toys, floaties, and safety equipment for compliance and safety.
  5. Communication: Calmly communicate safety messages and rules to pool patrons.
  6. Safety Maintenance: Ensure proper use of PPE when handling chemicals and maintaining pool safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Certified in CPR/AED/First Aid (training can be provided on the job).
  • Ability to identify colors accurately for chemical testing.
  • Calm demeanor with strong decision-making skills.
  • Previous water experience and whistle skills are a plus.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure.
  • Strong swimming skills and physical agility.
  • Willingness to handle various aquatic safety tasks and potential hazards.
