Job summary

YMCA of Dane County in Madison, WI is seeking a lifeguard to supervise pool areas, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies with professionalism. Must maintain current lifeguard certifications and provide a Lifeguard Certificate with application. Daytime and evening availability, at least 15 years old, and a friendly attitude are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current lifeguard certifications and keep them valid.
• Daytime/evening availability a must.
• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to demonstrate lifeguard skills per YMCA standards.
• Ability to communicate professionally with members, staff and supervisors.
• Outgoing, friendly approach to motivate members.
• Weekend availability with rotating schedule.
• Must attach Lifeguard Certificate to application.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool area to ensure member safety and prevent accidents.
• Respond to emergencies with appropriate rescue techniques.
• Enforce YMCA pool rules and educate members on safety.
• Provide excellent member service and information as needed.

Qualifications

• Must Possess following certifications and keep all certifications current:
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Daytime/evening availability a must
• Must be 15 year of age or older
• Ability to demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and supervisors
• Have an outgoing, friendly approach that will lead and motivate members
• Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness at all times.
• Weekend availability a must- rotating weekend schedule
• Must attach Lifeguard Certificate to application
