Summary

Maintain the safety of swimmers at Grandmama's House of Preschool and Child Development. Respond to emergencies using rescue procedures. Enforce rules, observe weather and water conditions, and intervene if there is rough or dangerous play. Small swimming environment, groups no larger than 14. Monday-Friday, 8 am - 3 pm.

  • Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
  • Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Additional Responsibilities

The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and Director by helping create a caring and safe environment, assisting in activities to improve care and education quality. Must communicate well, work in a team, observe and document children's interests and progress, and relay information to parents and staff. Responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's needs under supervision.

Duties
  • Ensure all policies and regulations are met
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Open and close the pool daily as scheduled
  • Regularly treat the pool with correct chemicals
  • Explain and enforce safety rules and policies
  • Monitor areas for danger and warn swimmers of unsafe situations
Requirements
  • Current water safety and lifeguarding certification (paid for if not already held)
  • At least 16 years old
  • High energy, team-oriented, and good with children and parents
  • Clear background check and health screening
