Who We Need

Barkan Management is seeking a Lifeguard Coordinator for a condominium complex in Swampscott, MA. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to our residents and guests by assisting them in a friendly, efficient, courteous, and professional manner.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure a safe environment by enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations and keeping the pool area free of debris and safe from potential hazards.
• Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or in danger of drowning, and administers emergency treatment, if necessary.
• Properly maintain and monitor the pool environment so it meets all required local health codes.
• Chemical testing and vacuuming of pool.
• Weekly lifeguard schedules
• Ensure there is only a certain number of individuals in the pool area in accordance with guidelines.
• Maintain hourly attendance records while on duty.
• Add water to pools as needed.
• Sweep and/or rinse off pool deck and pool furniture as needed.
• Arrange pool furniture neatly.
• Skim top of pool as needed; empty skimmer baskets daily.
• Clean bathrooms daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Must pass (reimbursable) American Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard certification class.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
