Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast Greater Ridgecrest Branch is seeking a lifeguard supervisor to oversee recreational, fitness, and instructional swims with utmost safety. The role requires current lifeguard certification and CPR/BLS, with AED and oxygen administration training as well.

Shifts vary and staff must be prepared to work flexible hours. Candidate must be at least 16, pass swim tests annually, and complete YMCA safety trainings within the first 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old at hire.
• CPR/BLS, First Aid, AED and O2 required at hire.
• Complete YMCA safety and service trainings within specified timelines.
• Lifeguard related certifications must be held or cross-trained.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming activities to ensure safety during all swims.
• Model the SMART pledge and promote safety culture.
• Report suspicious activity and maintain supplies and facility.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for pool areas.
• Maintain professional image and assist members politely.
• Know emergency procedures and administer first aid when needed.
• Check in before pool opening and arrive early for shifts.
• Report serious incidents and participate in staff trainings.
• Serve as a pool-safety role model for staff and participants.
