We are currently accepting applications for the full-time position of LIFEGUARD.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety at the aquatic facilities (Town Pool and Old Reservoir), interacting with the public, performing light maintenance, facility, and custodial work (such as trash pick-up, cleaning locker rooms, raking beach), and other duties as assigned. Participation in weekly in-services, including a 500-yard swim, is required. The position reports to the Aquatics Manager, Assistant Manager, and Head Lifeguard on duty.

Requirements

• Minimum 16 years of age by June 2, 2025
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification or YMCA Lifeguard Certification (including Standard First Aid or Community First Aid and Safety Certificate)
• Current American Red Cross CPR Certificate for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association CPR Certificate for Healthcare Providers
• Red Cross Waterfront Module required for placement at the Old Reservoir

Hours and Salary

• Up to 20-40 hours per week (seasonally variable)
• $18.75 per hour
