Job description

Join our team this summer at High Sierra Pools! We are seeking lifeguards, pool managers, and area lifeguards to join our Tysons area team. Our certified lifeguards earn some of the highest rates in the industry!

If you have good swimming skills and want a fun summer job where you can make a difference in your community, this is the perfect opportunity. We offer flexible summer/seasonal schedules, including full-time, part-time, and weekend-only positions.

Lifeguard Duties and Responsibilities
  • Opening and closing the pool daily according to schedule
  • Maintaining proper chemical levels in the pool
  • Monitoring the pool area for safety issues
  • Directing swimmers out of water during dangerous conditions
  • Monitoring weather reports to ensure guest safety
  • Organizing and overseeing pool parties
  • Providing swim lessons and coaching swim teams when applicable
  • Maintaining a clean pool environment
Lifeguard Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid Lifeguarding/First Aid, CPR-AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications
  • Minimum age of 16 years
  • At least two years of lifeguard experience
  • Current ARC certification
  • Lifeguarding or Shallow Water lifeguarding certification
  • Positive attitude and readiness to help others
  • Dependability and reliability
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment in-water skills test
  • Experience coaching swim teams and teaching swimming lessons
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests if required
