Job summary

Hyatt Lifeguard is sought to support the Recreation Department, monitoring a public pool, enforcing safety rules, and assisting guests with aquatic programs while providing hospitality information.

Responsibilities include observing swimmers, preventing accidents, performing rescues and first aid, and supporting events and pool operations. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training are required or provided as needed.

Job description

The Lifeguard is a support position to the Recreation Department. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean pool environment. This person must be customer service oriented and be able to provide hotel information as well as assist with recreation rental equipment. The person in this position will observe swimmers, protect life, prevent accidents, enforce regulations and do related work as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe the activities of swimmers in and around a public pool to assure that policies, rules, and regulations are observed, and hazards are eliminated or minimized
• Maintain group and individual discipline
• Rescue persons in danger and provide first aid as necessary
• Give accurate information about aquatic facilities and programs. Assist in conducting special events and in the maintenance operation of aquatic facilities
• Other duties as assigned
