Lifeguard# LifeguardWintergreen - Nellysford, VA 22958## OverviewSalary Range$16.00 - $17.00 HourlyPosition TypeSeasonal## Description**SUMMARY:** While on duty, the lifeguard must monitor the water and inflatables for safety and proper usage by guests. Lifeguards will check the beach and both docks before, during, and after shift for safety and cleanliness, making the appropriate corrections when needed. The water watching shifts may include both short and long periods of time on the lifeguard stand. Lifeguards are also responsible for monitoring access to the lake by being knowledgeable of and checking for appropriate Wintergreen Passes. When not on shift for watching the water, lifeguards will be available to assist guests with boat rentals as well as snack shop food. Lifeguard staff will maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the Lake property.**PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES****:*** Smile and greet guests in a friendly manner* Report to work on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts.* Must be in uniform at all times.* Follow all opening, closing and daily operating procedures.* Keep work area, restrooms, and park neat and clean.* Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.* Needs to be able to take on additional tasks and assignments assigned by the Lake Supervisor and Manager.## Qualifications# **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*** Basic record-keeping and report-writing.* Must be at least 16 years of age* Superior customer service skills are required.* Must have current Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications or be able to attain certification before the start of the season.* Ability to answer all questions and take messages over the phone from guests and other resort personnel.## **EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES*:***Lifeguard certification current **LICENSE****AND****CERTIFICATION****REQUIREMENT(S):*** Must have Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications up to date# **PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:*** Must be able to work outside in the sun for extended periods of time in a warm and sometimes humid climate.* Must be able to work holidays, weekends and evenings.* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs in the water# **BENEFITS OF WORKING AT WINTERGREEN:**Wintergreen Resort is a place for mountain lovers, adventure seekers and outdoor explorers.
