Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated lifeguard to supervise pool activities at an indoor pool in Sand Springs, OK. You will maintain constant surveillance, enforce rules, and direct swimmer conduct to ensure safety for all patrons.

Responsibilities include performing emergency lifesaving, CPR and First Aid per certified practices, contacting EMS when necessary, and keeping the pool area clean and orderly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and complete required lifeguard training.
• Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required.
• Six months of lifeguard experience or equivalent demonstrated training.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to swim and meet lifesaving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Guard safety of swimmers with constant surveillance of pool area.
• Direct and supervise swimmers to enforce pool rules.
• Provide emergency lifesaving and CPR/First Aid per certified practices.

Job SummaryServe as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities.Service Work (95%)Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool areaDirects and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rulesProvides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesavingCPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim.Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the pool area; collects/disposes of trash; maintains neat and orderly pool office.Other Responsibilities (5%)Performs other related work as required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of life saving techniques and ability to perform them in emergency situationsAbility to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities in order to ensure swimmers’ safety and to respond to emergency rescue when needed.Ability to enforce all swimming pool rulesAbility to read, write, and communicate the English languageAbility to swim and meet lifesaving requirementsEducation and ExperienceMust be at least 15 years of age.
