Job summary

Highgate is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard for the TradeWinds Recreation Team in Saint Pete Beach, Florida. This role involves ensuring safety standards while providing unforgettable experiences for guests at our Water Park.

The ideal candidate will have an active lifeguard certification, strong swimming skills, and the ability to work outdoors in Florida's hot climate. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is crucial as these are peak times for guests.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active and valid lifeguard certification from a reputable source.
• Active and valid open-water lifeguard certification and valid CPR certification preferred.
• Must be able to work outside in Florida's extreme/hot climate for eight hours or more.
• Strong swimming skills including ability to respond to Gulf conditions and swim 500 m within 10 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Create memorable experiences while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist in the setup and operation of the Water Park.
• Ensure safety standards during 'Swim with the Fish' offerings.
• Monitor and respond to needs during Water Park operations.

Responsibilities

This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will join the TradeWinds Recreation Team, reporting up to the Recreation Manager and be directly responsible for:

• Creating memorable experiences while maintaining the highest standard of safety
• Assisting in the set up, operation and safe use of the Water Park for our Guests
• Ensuring safety standards are followed for our Guests participating in our "Swim with the Fish" Tank Experience.
• Monitoring and responding swiftly to any needs while in operation of the Water Park or "Swim with the Fish" offerings.
• Providing support to our Guests and co-workers to provide the best experience
• Performing maintenance to the equipment as needed and directed

Qualifications

• Must possess an active and valid lifeguard certification from a reputable source.
• Active and valid open-water lifeguard certification, valid CPR certification, and former pool and/or water park experience preferred (Tradewinds can provide the training class for these certifications)
• Must be able to work outside in Florida's extreme/hot climate for eight hours a day or more
• Walk/stand for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)
• Strong swimming skills including ability to respond to conditions in the Gulf and to Swim 500 m within 10 minutes
• Safely lift and move objects weighing 60 lbs.-100 lbs.
• Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as these are our busiest times
