This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); NSA HAMPTON ROADS, PORTSMOUTH, VA. The incumbent provides lifeguard duties, safeguarding lives, assisting with aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation.
Pool and waterfront lifeguard duties (60%) include supervising swimmers, monitoring water activities, performing rescues, applying first aid, and enforcing safety rules. Responsibilities also include water condition monitoring, chemical testing, operating rescue vehicles, and documenting marine and weather conditions.
General duties (40%) encompass administering aquatic assessments, providing equipment orientations, managing facility maintenance, inspecting safety gear, enforcing policies, reporting emergencies, and handling hazardous materials.
Salary depends on experience and education. Participation in a probationary period may be required. Must participate in direct deposit. Employment is contingent upon eligibility verification and compliance with federal drug-free workplace policies.
