Job summary

Tech9 is seeking a Lifeguard in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL to ensure pool safety, monitor guests, and promote water safety with excellent customer service.

Requirements include Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and a 15+ age by class end; ability to work in various weather and pass an assessment. Classes offered Jan/Feb/Apr/May/June; employment after class is not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Participants must be 15 years old or will be by class end.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and under direct sunlight.
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Must pass lifeguard skills and CPR assessment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool areas, water attractions, and surrounding areas for safety.
• Respond immediately to emergencies, including water rescues and first aid.
• Enforce safety rules in a firm but courteous manner.
• Perform opening duties (deck cleaning, sweeping) to maintain cleanliness.
• Perform closing duties (restrooms, trash) and ensure readiness for the next day.

Job description

The Lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and pool visitors by actively monitoring the pool area, enforcing safety rules, and responding quickly to emergencies. This role includes promoting water safety, enforcing park rules, and providing excellent customer service. Lifeguards are expected to have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.Responsibilities:Monitor pool areas, water attractions, and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all residents and guests.Respond immediately to emergencies, including water rescues, first aid incidents, or any other safety concerns.Enforce all safety rules and regulations in a firm but courteous manner to prevent accidents or injuries.Perform opening tasks such as leaf blowing and sweeping the pool deck and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness. Inspect and clean restrooms to ensure they are stocked and ready for use.Perform closing duties such as cleaning the restrooms at the end of each shift to ensure they are ready for use the next day. Take out trash and recyclables from pool areas and surrounding park spaces ensuring a neat and tidy facility.Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times, interacting with residents, guests, and staff respectfully and courteously.Requirements:Attain a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
