Job Summary:

The Lifeguards are responsible for supporting and enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring the safety of the pool facility within the scope of their lifeguard certification. The primary responsibility of the lifeguard is the safety of the guests.

Day-to-Day:

• Scan the pool area to detect safety concerns and practice preventative lifeguarding.
• Conduct yourself professionally, understand, and relate to guests while using the pools.
• Effectively communicate with children, parents/guardians, and the public. Respond quickly and efficiently to member questions, comments, and concerns.
• Patrol pool areas to maintain cleanliness of the facility and equipment. Perform daily maintenance duties such as setting up for daily operations and performing major clean-up at the end of the day.
• Work at swim meets as required.
• Test the pool environment for proper chemical and environmental conditions.

About You:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Knowledge of accident prevention and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to swim long distances, minimum 300 yards, with strength and endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
