Owensboro Health Medical Group is seeking a Lifeguard to maintain a safe aquatic area during shifts that require a lifeguard on duty. This per diem/PRN position supports the Aquatics Healthpark with a focus on safety and rapid response to emergencies.
The role requires a lifeguard certification and a high school diploma or GED; candidates must be able to act decisively under pressure and adhere to facility rules while maintaining cleanliness and equipment readiness.

Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe area for aquatic activity during hours that require a lifeguard on duty.
Responsible for the prevention of incidents, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility rules related to aquatic area. Enforces the facility and pool rules. Assists with keeping aquatic area clean and safe every shift that is worked. Ensures supplies are maintained in the department. Alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics regarding functionality and/or availability of equipment. Completes incident reports when incidents occur and alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics.
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross required upon hire OR Lifeguard certification from Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) required upon hire OR Lifeguard certification from Ellis and Associates required upon hire
