Northfield Public Schools is hiring Lifeguards for Northfield Community Education Center as part-time positions from 9/1/2026 through 5/31/2027. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lifeguards stay alert to patrons and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure the venue is safe.
• Wear a rescue tube and whistle when patrons are in the facility.
• Remain at lifeguard post and stay focused during lessons.
• Maintain order of the facility and monitor patron behavior in the water.
• Assist with discipline plans in coordination with supervisor and recreation coordinator.
• Be prepared to execute the EMS plan and respond to emergencies.
• Communicate concerns to the recreation coordinator in a timely manner.
• Record hours worked on the timesheet and report vacation requests promptly.

Responsibilities

• -Lifeguards will be alert to patrons, and be prepared to respond to all situations requiring attention, whether on deck or in the pool.
  -Lifeguards will arrive at least fifteen minutes early and ensure the lesson venue is safe and ready for patrons.
  -Lifeguards will wear a rescue tube and whistle when patrons are in the facility.
  -Lifeguards will remain at lifeguard post and stay focused throughout the duration of lessons.
  -Lifeguards will maintain order of the facility, most specifically with regards to patron behaviors while in the water.
  -Lifeguards will oversee child behavior, and with the help of the program supervisor and recreation coordinator, implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
  -Lifeguards will be prepared to execute the EMS plan and know how to respond to emergency situations.
  -Lifeguards will communicate any concerns to the recreation coordinator.
  -Lifeguards will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
  -Lifeguards will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues,
  etc.
