Details	POSITION SUMMARY:The Division of Student Life; Recreational Services is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety of all patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies in Recreational Services Pools. DUTIES TO INCLUDE: Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. Enforce policies, rules, and regulations for all Recreational Services pools. Inspect the facility and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor. Perform maintenance and cleaning duties for general upkeep of the facility. Perform pool chemical tests and complete chemical logs. Complete records and reports. Track and record pool user attendance. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled in-service training sessions. Maintain fitness level (swimming skills, strength, and endurance). Maintain lifeguarding skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis. Maintain current certifications including any additional safety training. Assist as needed with setup and teardown of aquatic center events. Ensure appropriate pool setup for aquatic center programs. Open and close pool areas during aquatic programs. Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week. Must be able to successfully pass the pre-employment Lifeguard skills test. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
