Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a Lifeguard to supervise the pool area, ensure guest safety, and provide excellent customer service. You will monitor water quality and assist with facility maintenance, greeting guests and coordinating with the Aquatics Manager.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED and Lifeguard/First Aid/AED certifications within 30 days, with preference for 1 year of Lifeguard experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year Lifeguard experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Lifeguard certification (ARC) within 30 days
• First Aid certification within 30 days
• AED certification within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Provide constant supervision and maintain a safe pool environment.
• Greet members and guests and acknowledge them as appropriate.
• Oversee pool area and patio to ensure safety.
• Monitor and record water quality, temperature, and fill levels.
• Keep pool area clean and prepare facilities for scheduled activities.

Overview

Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager. Lifeguards are responsible for general supervision, safety, maintenance and excellent customer service.

What You Will Do

• Has a neat professional appearance, with rescue tube properly placed, while maintaining proper surveillance of patrons and guests. Greets members and guest when entering the pool area with a nod of acknowledgement when possible, using names when appropriate.
• Works assigned shifts, or finds an appropriate substitute following all proper procedures and documentation.
• Supervises and controls all activity in the pool area and on the patio so that a safe environment is maintained.
• Responsible for monitoring and appropriately recording water quality, temperature and appropriate fill levels in pool and whirlpool.
• Maintains clean environment, proper equipment storage and completes scheduled shift duties. Ensures the pool is prepared in a timely manner prior to the start of scheduled activities.

Experience

• 1 year Lifeguard experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Lifeguard - American Red Cross (ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
• First Aid - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
• Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
