Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a lifeguard for the Gloucester pool area. You will ensure a safe environment, supervise patrons, and maintain the pool area with attention to water quality and cleanliness.

You will greet guests, manage shifts or substitutions, and coordinate with the Aquatics team to prepare for scheduled activities, while upholding excellent customer service standards. Required certifications include ARC Lifeguard, First Aid, and AED within 30 days of hire; a high school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Lifeguard/ARC certification required within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AED certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool area and patio to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor water quality, temperature, and fill levels; document readings.
• Maintain clean pool area, equipment storage, and prepare pool for activities.
• Greet members and guests, provide safe, courteous customer service.
• Follow procedures for shifts and substitutions with proper documentation.

Education

High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)

Lifeguard certification (ARC) within 30 days (Required)

First Aid (AHA/ARC) within 30 days (Required)

Lifeguards are responsible for general supervision, safety, maintenance and excellent customer service.What you will doHas a neat professional appearance, with rescue tube properly placed, while maintaining proper surveillance of patrons and guests. Greets members and guest when entering the pool area with a nod of acknowledgement when possible, using names when appropriate.Works assigned shifts, or finds an appropriate substitute following all proper procedures and documentation.Supervises and controls all activity in the pool area and on the patio so that a safe environment is maintained.Responsible for monitoring and appropriately recording water quality, temperature and appropriate fill levels in pool and whirlpool.Maintains clean environment, proper equipment storage and completes scheduled shift duties.
