Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a vigilant Lifeguard to monitor the pool area, enforce safety rules, and create a welcoming, safe environment for families. You will respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and maintain a clean deck while upholding the Goldfish standard.

Position is part-time with evening and weekend shifts. Certification is required or must be obtained through Goldfish Swim School. Join us to help deliver a golden experience for every swimmer and guest.

Qualifications

• Must have Lifeguard certification (or agree to obtain it through Goldfish Swim School).
• 6 months lifeguard experience at an aquatic facility or camp preferred.
• Available for evening and weekend shifts.
• Safety-first mindset; ability to stay calm and decisive in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of all patrons and respond to emergencies.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests.
• Inform management of incidents accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.

Job Title: Lifeguard

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Part time, Non-Exempt

Summary: We’re looking for an alert, dependable, and safety-first team member to join us as a Lifeguard. This role is the backbone of what we do. You'll be poolside every shift, keeping a watchful eye over our swimmers, and creating a safe environment where kids and families feel confident in the water. If you take safety seriously, show up ready to lead by example, and genuinely care about the people around you, this role is for you!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant, focused surveillance of all patrons in the facility and respond immediately and appropriately to any emergency.
• Provide emergency care and first aid until EMS arrives, and ensure EMS is contacted through the most appropriate means.
• Communicate facility rules to members and guests fairly, consistently, and with a welcoming attitude.
• Inform management of any incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility throughout every shift.
• Help drive our mission and ensure everyone has a Golden Experience while in the building.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication skills with both team members and families.
• Required to obtain Lifeguard certification through Goldfish Swim School, if not certified already.

• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
• While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat, humidity, and chlorine. Noise level is usually moderate.
