Job summary

The Town of Flower Mound is hiring a Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons at the aquatics facility. Responsibilities include supervising swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and providing emergency care when necessary. Ideal candidates will have certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding, alongside strong leadership and communication skills. Flexible hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Certifications required or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety in the pool and enforce regulations.

Job description

Protects the safety and well-being of each patron utilizing the aquatics facility and responds to emergencies. Enforces the aquatics facility's rules and regulations.

Performs all Lifeguard duties, ensuring that swimmers are well supervised in the pool and on the deck areas, monitors pool activities, prevents accidents, and minimizes hazardous situations.

Provides emergency care and treatment as necessary until emergency medical services arrive. Applies first aid and performs water rescues as needed.

Enforces all safety rules and regulations of the aquatics facility's patrons.

Assists with the distribution of aquatics equipment and supplies.

Prepares and submits reports related to rescues, assists, accidents, and first aid to the supervisor.

Attends mandatory training and in-service meetings.

Informs the supervisor of all work-related activities.

Adheres to personnel, safety, and divisional policies and procedures of the Town.

Assists co-workers and other divisions as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Education

• Must have CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard Certifications, or become certified within 30 days of hire. The Town provides certification classes for $125.

Skills

Physical Abilities

• Ability to talk, see, hear, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions.
• Perform strenuous activities, including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
