Lifeguard Job Description

Reports to: Aquatics Supervisor/Assistant General Manager

Description:

The lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons and students in and around the pool, responding to emergencies as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area; respond immediately to emergencies to ensure safety.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until medical help arrives.
• Complete incident reports accurately.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, providing excellent customer service.
• Perform duties to keep the facility clean and safe.
• Supervise the pool area according to American Red Cross standards.

Other Duties

Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Maintain current Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications for all age groups.
• Successfully complete all Red Cross pre-requisites.
• Lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.

Hours: 3-30 hours per week

Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
