Job summary

Dickinson College is seeking a lifeguard for the Kline Center Pool to monitor and supervise swimmers and enforce pool rules. Must hold current Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certifications, be 16 or older, and provide documentation.

On-campus employment with on-site duties and required safety protocols, including masking and CDC distancing. Responsibilities include performing safety checks, monitoring water chemistry, temperatures, and participating in in-service emergency training.

Qualifications

• Must have current Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must provide uploaded certifications for Lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position performs lifeguard duties at the Kline Center Pool.Preferred Qualifications: Must be 16 years of age and have current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.Required documents: Uploaded certifications for Lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid.Specific safety guidelines will be provided to employees, in accordance with state regulations. All individuals, including visitors, on campus are required to wear masks and follow appropriate CDC social distancing procedures at all times. Please note that employment as a Lifeguard is not able to be performed remotely. Employment and payment for hours worked will cease upon leaving campus.Supervise all bathers/swimmersEnforce pool rules for bathers/swimmersPerform safety checks to ensure a safe facilityMonitor pool water chemistry, air and water temperatureMaintain current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPRParticipate in in-service training for emergency proceduresThe pool cannot be open without appropriate and qualified staffing. This includes use by Athletic teams, Students, Faculty, Staff and Alumni Requires special skills, knowledge, or abilities. Work entails general guidelines. Moderate level of work experience or knowledge is required (minimum 6 months). Possess the knowledge and skills to perform independently with or without training. Person will have limited supervision. They will have some decision-making authority.
