Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure a friendly, safe and sanitary environment at the Fitness Plus facility, encouraging members to swim and improve skills. This role supports safety, skill development, and wellness through attentive supervision and responsive service.

The PRN position requires a High School Diploma (preferred) and certifications; Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor are preferred, with BLS required if lifeguard training is absent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma - preferred.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification preferred within 30 days of employment.
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification - preferred.
• BLS Certification within 45 days of hire if no Lifeguard Training certification - required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly, safe and sanitary environment at the Fitness Plus facility to encourage ongoing usage and skill improvement.
• Assist members with swimming and safety skills development.
• Follow supervision by Assistant Manager and Aquatics Programmer to maintain safety standards.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager and Aquatics Programmer, the Lifeguard’s primary responsibility is to provide a friendly, safe and sanitary environment that encourages members to continue to use the Fitness Plus facility, continue to improve individual swimming and safety skills, and continue to use those skills for leisure, recreation and wellness purposes.
