An established industry player is seeking dedicated Lifeguards to ensure the safety of patrons at various aquatic facilities. This seasonal position involves monitoring swim zones, enforcing safety rules, and providing excellent customer service. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic individuals who are at least 15 years old and possess swimming skills. Comprehensive training will be provided, including certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid. Summary: The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in a pool or lakefront facility by scanning and monitoring swim zones and preventing & responding to emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Must be 15 years old or more. Must be able to swim. No prior lifeguard experience or training needed. PDHP staff will train and certify all hired lifeguards prior to their first day on the job. Must have or be able to successfully complete a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard training program, including successful completion of an in-water skills test, written examination, and CPR, AED, and First Aid skills test.
Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: StarGuard Elite Certified Lifeguard with CPR, AED, Oxygen Support, and First Aid.
Classification: Seasonal, non-exempt
Wage Range: $16.50 - $18.25 per hour
Benefits: Access to some recreation facility usage.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions: The Lifeguard works in a climate of an average of 86 degrees Fahrenheit with humidity. He/she must be able to respond quickly and accurately. He/she handles chemicals when performing the water tests.
