Job summary

RTX is seeking a Life Cycle Systems Engineer I in the US (MA) onsite location to provide end-to-end support across RTX product lines. The role centers on Life Cycle Engineering to optimize performance, readiness, and total ownership costs while collaborating with RAM, ILS, and depot/maintenance teams.

You will help develop logistics data, maintenance scheduling, spares analysis, manuals, and training while supporting robust depot repair and sustainment services throughout the product life cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field by start date.
  • Experience with engineering principles, analytical troubleshooting, and root-cause/failure analysis concepts.
  • Coursework related to relational databases or matrix databases.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

  • Develop, review, and organize technical data elements, including provisioning lists, spares recommendations, failure trends, logistics data, manuals, and training materials.

  • Assist in entering engineering change information into life cycle management databases for accurate tracking of configurations and logistics impacts.

What You Will Do

As a Life Cycle Systems Engineer I , you'll be working with cross functional teams providing end-to-end support for various RTX product lines. Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) focuses on optimizing the total performance, readiness, and sustainability of systems from initial conceptual design through final operational disposal. In this foundational role, you may collaborate with teams across critical product support and sustainment disciplines, including reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM), failure and corrective action analysis, and integrated logistics support (ILS).

Your work directly impacts focal areas such as system provisioning, the development of logistics product data, preventative maintenance scheduling, spares analysis, technical manuals, and training program creation. This role also supports robust depot repair and returns pipelines and long-term sustainment services. You will help ensure products remain effective, supportable, and affordable throughout their entire life cycle, which maximizes mission readiness while minimizing the total ownership cost of the system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support senior engineers in planning and conducting fundamental analyses, studies, and investigations.
  • Develop, review, and organize technical data elements, which may include system provisioning lists, spares recommendations, failure trends, logistics product data, technical manuals, and training materials, ensuring adherence to industry and military standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track hardware components through factory production or repair pipelines and help analyze spare parts requirements to ensure continuous operational readiness.
  • Assist in compiling, verifying, and entering engineering design change information into life cycle management databases to ensure accurate tracking of configurations and logistics impacts.
  • Support the development and implementation of both internal or commercial data tracking, reporting, and monitoring tools.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with engineering principles, analytical troubleshooting methodologies, and root-cause or failure analysis concepts.
  • Coursework related to relational databases or matrix databases
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Familiarity with defense logistics, maintenance, and supportability frameworks, such as Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Product Support principles, DoD/DFAR regulations or MIL-STD/MIL-PRF requirements.
  • Experience using database management systems, data visualization software, CAD software, or engineering modeling tools, and competence with standard Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe tools.
  • Understanding of system life cycle phases (concept, design, integration, test, deployment, maintenance, sustainment).
  • Prior internship or academic project experience related to military hardware, radar or aerospace systems, or complex equipment sustainment or maintenance.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
