Job description

We are a high-performing, anti-poverty Community Action Agency looking for a seasoned professional to work as a Life Works Coach II for our self-sufficiency program. At least five years full-time experience as a Life Works Coach, providing long-term, holistic case management (or equivalent) and strong knowledge of Community Action Agencies required. This is a full-time position.

Salary: $27.00 to $31.00 DOQ plus employer-paid competitive benefits for employees. This position is non-exempt under FLSA and eligible for overtime pay.

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Organize and coordinate program information sessions, customer and program meetings, and manage program waitlists;
  • Help Program Manager collect and aggregate program data for reports and other purposes;
  • Update forms, Program Handbook(s) and other documents as assigned;
  • Attend and document community meetings as assigned by Program Manager;
  • Manage partnerships with potential employers, colleges, other non-profits, etc. as assigned by the Program Manager in order to support customer and program ongoing success;
  • Assist with job applicant screenings and participate in employee selection role play activities under the direction of the Program Manager;
  • Conduct all activities as a Life Works Coach with a reduced case load, including: provide long-term, complex individual and family case management using agency and community resources and strength-based approaches; use evidenced-based strategies, techniques, and tools to help customers set life goals and implement action-based solutions; collect, analyze, maintain and protect up-to-date, confidential and required electronic and hardcopy financial and personal customer data and records; conduct job development and placement activities; understand and address the socioeconomic and psychological factors that affect people who live in poverty;
  • Instruct and/or facilitate agency-sponsored and other approved coursework and training;
  • Work on teams to complete tasks;
  • Incorporate initiative, sound judgment, and the Agency’s Values – Teamwork, Communication, Quality, and Respect into daily work.

Requires:

  • Graduation from a regionally or CHEA accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Social Work or related human services field;
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Life Works Coach, providing results-focused, multi-dimensional, long-term case management in a team-based setting;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
