Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an Educator for the Life Support Training Center at the Main Campus in Jackson. The role coordinates and delivers continuing education and simulation training for physicians, nurses, students and staff, acting as an expert resource and developing curricula.

Requires a degree (Associates or Bachelor’s) and 3 years of paramedic, nursing, or respiratory therapy experience, plus post-hire instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS).

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's or bachelor's degree with 3 years of paramedic, nursing, or respiratory therapist experience.
• Post-hire within six months: American Heart Association BLS, PALS and ACLS Instructor certifications.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, training methods and instructional design.

Responsibilities

• Schedules continuing education and training opportunities for UMMC employees, community members and students.
• Provides simulation training for physicians, internal medicine residents, medical students, faculty, staff and other professionals in BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Identifies training needs and evaluates the competence and quality of care.
• Acts as a knowledge resource for employees, students and community members.
• Develops, plans and evaluates compliance with training policies and curricula.
• Manages course files, certifications and payments in a timely manner.
• Ensures instructor/provider compliance with guidelines.
• Collects data and builds reports; trains and manages affiliated instructors.
