Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires Texas teaching certification with appropriate endorsement for teaching area.
• Experience developing IEPs and participating in ARD process.
• Knowledge of SPED curriculum and policies.
• Minimum one year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents and staff in the development of IEPs.
• Develop and implement social and academic programs according to IEPs.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show evidence of preparation.
• Assess student progress with formal and informal testing.
• Modify classroom environment to maximize student success.
• Provide or supervise personal care or medical care per IEP.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents and staff.
• Participate in in-district in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with campus, district, state and federal policies.
