Job summary

Blue River Services, Inc. in Corydon, IN seeks a Life Skills Instructor to provide direct support and instruction to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

The role focuses on teaching daily living skills, promoting independence, and maintaining a safe, supportive home environment while encouraging community involvement and personal growth. Responsibilities include implementing individualized plans, documenting progress, and facilitating participation in activities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a residential setting serving individuals with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment for residents.
• Provide instruction in daily living skills including personal care, social skills, money management, and household tasks.
• Support residents in developing independence and achieving individualized goals outlined in service plans.
• Assist with implementation of ISP and Person-Centered Plans.
• Monitor and document resident progress and goal achievement.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Participate in recreational and community activities with residents.
• Encourage positive community participation and relationship building.
• Support residents in exercising personal choice, independence, and rights.
• Assist with coverage of shifts as needed.
