Job summary

North Star Independent Living Supports LLC in Riverside County, California, is seeking a Life Skills Instructor to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving independent living goals, at home or in the community.

You will teach, document progress, and collaborate with a team to ensure effective support, note completion, and timely submission of time sheets and mileage logs while maintaining a flexible, client-focused schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clean Background check.
• Clean DMV record.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Valid Vehicle Insurance and proof of vehicle registration.
• A minimum of one year of experience with the Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled population.
• Be able to lift, stoop, bend, and pull up to 40 lbs.

• Be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work to the performance of this job description.
• Responsible for completing all ongoing notes and submitting them to the office at the end of the month.
• Responsible for accurately completing and submitting Time Sheet and Mileage Logs at the time specified by administration.
• Actively look for methods, ways to help others.
• Attend In-Service Training.
• Determine a course of action based upon information or actions of others.
• Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when working, learning, or teaching new things.
