Job summary

The Ephrata Area School District in Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Support Teacher for the Intermediate/Middle School team. The role provides specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP and works with families and staff to develop individualized programming promoting growth, independence, and meaningful participation in school.

The teacher will create a structured, inclusive environment and deliver instruction in functional academics, communication, daily living

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification: Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification for the assignment.
  • Experience: Teaching licensure and licensed special education experience.
  • IEP development and implementation experience.
  • Ability to support diverse learners with individualized plans.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide individualized and small-group instruction based on IEP goals and student needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs per state and federal requirements.
  • Provide instruction in functional academics, communication, social-emotional skills, daily living and independence.
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to provide meaningful access to instruction.
  • Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers.
  • Provide direction to paraeducators and participate in IEP meetings.
