Job summary

Compass Behavioral Group in Norfolk is seeking a Life Skills Counselor (QMHP or QMHP-Trainee) to provide direct, in-home and community-based mental health skill-building services to adults with serious mental illness.

You will focus on daily living, social and coping skills, tailor interventions to meet treatment plans, provide psychoeducation, and maintain accurate documentation using our streamlined tools.

Qualifications

• QMHP or QMHP-Trainee with the Board of Counseling.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Driver’s license with 1+ years of driving experience.

Your Role:

As a Life Skills Counselor (Qualified Mental Health Professional - QMHP-T or QMHP), you will:

• Provide direct, in-home and community-based mental health skill-building services to adults with serious mental illness.
• Focus on enhancing daily living, social, and coping skills to help clients achieve and maintain independence in the community.
• Work with clients individually, tailoring interventions to meet their needs and service goals outlined in treatment plans.
• Provide psychoeducation to empower clients and support their personal goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation using our streamlined tools.
